On Jan. 13, the opening ceremony of Zhongguancun BEZ (Kunming) Digital Economy Technology Industrial Park was held in Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area.

Zhongguancun BEZ (Kunming) Digital Economy Technology Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as Digital Economy Park), located in Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area, has a gross floor area of about 179 thousand square meters with a total investment of around 780 million yuan. The Digital Economy Park is planned to build 24 buildings, including 5 large plants, 16 small plants, and 2 R&D office buildings with canteens, dormitories, and other supporting facilities. The joint force of "the ability to develop spacial creation and services through science and technology, and to integrate resources and operate capital through science and technology" drives investment attraction, management and operation, and the integration of talents and information on a multi-level.

The introduction of the digital economy industry started simultaneously with the development and construction of the Digital Economy Park. Up to now, more than 10 enterprises in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and airport supporting facilities have been officially signed, while over 20 companies had the intention to sign. The signed area adds up to nearly 30,000 square meters.

Yunnan Baishuang Refrigeration Equipment Co., Ltd. is one of the enterprises first settled in Digital Economy Park, the head of which said that the professional and high-level management and current construction of Digital Economy Park are the reason they joined here. Based on the next development plan to expand markets in South Asia and Southeast Asia, Yunnan Baishuang Refrigeration Equipment Co., Ltd. is full of confidence in its future development, leveraging on the China-Laos Railway and convenient air traffic conditions.

The relevant person in charge of Zhongguancun Electronics Zone (Kunming) Technology Industrial Park said that Digital Economy Park is the first digital economy technology industrial park put into operation in Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area. In the future, Digital Economy Park will further focus on 5G, Metaverse, digital technology, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, blockchains, and other digital industrial economy industries. The deep integration of digital economy innovative chains, industrial chains, technology chains, capital chains, talent chains, and policy chains will be promoted comprehensively in Digital Economy Park to create a highland of much influence for the digital economy industry development in Yunnan Dian Zhong New Area.
